One piece of advice I would share about this experience is “live in the moment.” It’s truly so important to live in the moment and make the most of what you’re doing!

What I liked
I loved the team environment and variety in my work schedule. I got to work with kids in varying development stages and accommodate them while teaching skills such as creativity and self-confidence through arts and crafts. I loved the fast paced work environment and ability to act as a leader and mentor to first year staff.
What I wish was different
I wish there was an internship program and better incentives to incentivize returning staff retention as most staff were not my age.
Advice
Go in with an open mind and realizing the potential you have to impact children especially those who might be overlooked.

This is a great job for people who enjoy being around kids and serving as a formative and semi-parental role in their lives. A great and fun summer job!
