What I liked

Basecamp Recovery Center genuinely deeply cares about the patients that they serve. They have a wonderful, and talented team of counselors, case managers, leaders, nurses, NP's, and interns who go above and beyond to help those who are diagnosed with a substance use and/or mental health disorder seeking treatment to regain stability. Basecamp treats their staff very well! I absolutely love working here :) This is an amazing place for entry level workers who are looking for someone to "give them a chance" and gain a strong foundational set of skills that they can take with them to any job. Basecamp promotes professional development, and has always supported their employees in all of their ventures.

What I wish was different

I wish that Basecamp had received more support from the community in providing free care to uninsured patients seeking treatment. Basecamp had no choice but to stop providing totally free care due to a lack of financial support from others in the community. I remember when this happened in 2022, and it was heartbreaking. Not many places will offer totally free care regardless of a person's ability to pay and regardless of the ability to receive reimbursement from some source, so this was a very special thing that they did for about 2 years. They provided over 1 million dollars in free care to patients who were uninsured, and saved many lives by doing so!

Advice

One piece of advice would be to gather all of the experience and knowledge that you can from the many talented, highly experienced counselors and case managers who work here. Use the experience to gain thorough knowledge and to understand the complex challenges individuals diagnosed with these disorders face in seeking treatment and recovery.
