What I liked

Everyone at AUXO has a consistent, dedicated passion for their work; working closely with the portfolio team made me understand how much time and effort really goes into building a business and adding value. I loved seeing how intelligent and skilled yet hardworking and dedicated the team was. In addition, the value-added nature of private equity and AUXO really appealed to me. After one task was completed, they had already moved on to the next in an effort to build even better companies. I had a great experience and summer with AUXO!

What I wish was different

The only thing that I would have liked to be different was a more thorough internship development program since I had no previous private equity experience and was thrown into the work fairly quickly. However, given the nature of the firm as being established for only five years, they did a good job at providing helpful information from the get-go and doing as much as they could to support me.

Advice

Be prepared to be thrown into a fast-paced industry and firm where there are a lot of moving parts. One thing I didn't do well enough at was asking questions; as an intern, you aren't expected to know everything right away and it doesn't make you look bad to ask for help. Everybody at AUXO is very willing to help you, especially because they have been in the same position before too.
