I loved how much we were exposed to in terms of getting to sit in on research meetings at the hospital, as well as sit in on psychological testing seminars (utilizing the Rorschach and the TAT) and even get to sit in on meetings with patients from time to time. It was incredible to be immersed in such a unique pyschiatric hospital. I also just felt really valued and appreciated for the work I was doing.
What I wish was different
I wish I had gotten to sit in on more case conferences, but due to a need to protect the privacy of patients (and not a lack of effort on the part of the psychologists working there!) this just wasn't possible logistically.
Advice
I would say that this is an excellent opportunity for anyone considering a career in clinical psychology and so worthwhile! Also, free overnight housing is provided if you live far away and need to commute for the couple of days per week you're going to be working there.
