Athena Moore is a longtime community advocate with 30 years experience in public service, in both the non-profit and government sectors, as a public policy and health and human services expert. For the past seven years, she has been the Director of the Northern Manhattan Office for Manhattan Borough President Gale Brewer where she oversees constituent services and partnerships with city agencies and community stakeholders. In the last year, she has been in the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic relief efforts. Moore has brought critical assistance to more than 10,000 constituents through critical PPE distribution, testing, vaccinations, rent relief, small business recovery resources, and emergency food supplies.
As Director of the Northern Manhattan Office, Athena provides critical input in land use, budget, and public policy. She also executes the Borough Services Cabinet's city charter-mandated responsibilities. In her capacity, Athena has leveraged partnerships with community leaders, and launched initiatives to create greater access to government resources and improved service delivery for nonprofits, local residents, businesses, tenant leaders and block associations.
