B2B Sales Development Intern
June - July 2021 • Irving, TX
What I liked
The internship gave me a lot of hands-on sales experience, and I felt that I made a lot of improvements throughout the summer. One of my favorite aspects of the internship was being paired with a mentor who helped lead sales calls and gave advice.
What I wish was different
I wish that the program had been a little more organized and that our managers were able to be more involved in our day-to-day activities.
Advice
Go into it knowing that there will be challenging days where you will face rejection and conversations with difficult customers. Try to not get discouraged and have an open mind!

EDGE Intern
May - August 2021 • Dallas, TX
What I liked
I liked the EDGE Internship Program's versatility and available options for interns. Instead of being hired by a specific team for an internship, you are hired by the EDGE P<program itself and then placed on specific needs depending on the companies needs.
What I wish was different
I loved every minute of my internship. But if there was one thing I wish I could have changed it would have been doing my internship virtually. Despite wanting to work in person it just wasn't possible due to the COVID pandemic. But I understand that was not AT&T's doing, it was just the timing of my internship.
Advice
One thing I learned from this internship is to be nice to everyone you come in contact with! Networking is vital to one's success in their career and personal life. So, if you take advantage of every networking opportunity you have available to you then you will be on the right path to success. And it will increase your possibility of receiving a return offer because your name is out there being talked about.

Extern
July - August 2020 • Denver, CO
What I liked
It was fantastic to meet active professionals, it is super helpful to meet others in the fields you find interesting that can help guide you, even if just a little bit.
What I wish was different
I wish that I had focused more on gaining a hard skill. I focused mainly on soft skills such as public speaking, presentation skills, and writing skills.
Advice
Anything that you go into you must go into it looking to gain everything you can from it. I went into my experience looking for specific things to gain, but that reduces your experiences to what matches your expectations instead of opening your experiences to all that you are exposed to.

Network Engineer Intern
June - August 2021 • Dallas, TX
What I liked
The people at the company are incredible to work with and I had a great experience with my co-workers.
What I wish was different
I wish I could have participated in-person. However, I understand due to the circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Advice
AT&T is a great company to intern at, but you do not get much control over what projects you work on.

What I liked
What I wish was different
Advice
Network with as many people as you can! I built a networking map throughout the summer and it helped me find connections that be strengthened even after I left the internship. And, I was right! These same connections helped me secure a full-time position in a developmental program.

Summer Learning Extern
June - August 2021 • Chicago, IL
What I liked
Learned a lot from the program and its offerings
What I wish was different
Opportunities to share with more students and more assessments to ensure we've learned the material.
Advice
Don't waste your summer away. Learn new things to take with you before you start your new job. Share that you've been active in learning and transforming yourself after time off from school.

Technical EDGE Intern
June - September 2021 • Bellevue, WA
What I liked
I liked the flexibility of a virtual internship and the friendliness of my team. The work was interesting and related to programming which was what I wanted.
What I wish was different
I wish that the company had more of a "cameras on" culture, as I felt like the onboarding wasn't as personal as it could have been.
Advice
Apply to as many positions as possible. You never know which one might hit! Work hard and network both before and after you get your position.

Summer Intern
June - July 2020 • Jericho, NY
What I liked
I loved how At&t covered different aspects of the company, technical skills in the information/computer industry, and other skills that can be applied to any industry, job, and even daily life.
What I wish was different
I kinda wish some of the online lectures and lessons were formatted to be more consistent as sometimes different lessons had different mechanisms to grade/teach that made it a bit jarring moving from lesson to lesson. Also just put all the lecture videos on Youtube; as I found that the video player most lessons used was clunky; as most of the videos did not allow or the viewer to back up or move about the video easily without restarting the whole video.
Advice
Make sure to keep up with the lessons, secessions, ad lectures as you don't want all the material to pile up on you.

Try your best to balance work and school if you “have” to work while taking classes. Other than that devote most of your time towards your studies.

This company was a great stepping stone into figuring out what I want to do when I do graduate.

Extern
June - July 2020 • Rexburg, ID
What I liked
I liked the self paced learning program they developed. I gained a greater understanding of AI and machine learning, which is something interested in. They had live sessions with professionals from the organization, and we were able to ask questions if needed.
What I wish was different
I wish the program was a longer. It was difficult for students who were taking classes to be fully invested in the course. If it was longer that may have been different.
Advice
Attend all the live sessions. They were inspiring. The AT&T team put a huge effort into helping students have a meaningful experience.

Summer Extern
May - July 2020 • Warminster, PA
What I liked
I really enjoyed the externship that was provided during the COVID-19 crisis. I lost my internship in the summer and felt lost. AT&T taught me skills in every section of the corporate workplace, with a little more focus on the side of Corporate Finance.
What I wish was different
I wish there were more opportunities to work at AT&T following the externship.
Advice
Always learn how to turn a bad situation into an opportunity. I was devastated to lose my internship that I had previously set up for the summer of 2020. Rather than sit and feel bad for yourself, pick yourself up and look for new opportunities. I was fortunate enough that AT&T presented this opportunity for me during rough times.
