Friendly co-workers, fast-paced environment, not too involved with customers
What I wish was different
Didn't have an interview and was just given a tour of the store then called by the store director to see when I could start. During orientation you learned a lot about the company and not much about the details of your position in the store.

What I liked
Consistent, usually fun, relaxed, and my coworkers were nice. Very understanding managers.
What I wish was different
Some things that were out of my control affected the things I could do while at work. I wish those had been more consistent.
Advice
At Home is a very nice place to take a summer job, at least when working on the line in the back of the store.

What I wish was different
I wish there were more employees during a shift. It was stressful to have maybe no more than 5 employees working at a time at that big store. Also, I wish the store wasn't as messy and that customers would stop messing up aisles just recently organized.
Advice
You will deal with a lot of rude customers. A lot. Don't let it get to you. And negotiate for a higher pay during your interview.
