The onboarding process was very informative and made all the new hires feel welcomed. AASHE went above and beyond to make sure every new intern got a chance to meet and talk to every employee, even if they were outside your department. I also like how committed the organization is to improving itself from the inside out (RESJ efforts, great team communication, etc.)

What I liked
The healthy culture and community at AASHE is one of the best parts about working there. They are actively engaged in seeking to make the work environment more welcoming and comfortable for everyone there. The mission of the organization also makes the work more fulfilling as it's something I truly believe in.
What I wish was different
While the sustainability and accessibility of having the internship online made it a very good option, the one thing I missed was being able to interact with my coworkers in person. Unfortunately Covid made even AASHE's annual conference virtual, so there was no option to meet in person.
Advice
I learned about this internship through a professor, so I would recommend asking your professors if they know of any good opportunities that would fit with your path.
