Our field guides work eight-day shifts as the frontline care and supervision for student groups with up to nine clients and three guides. Guides are responsible for safely facilitating adventure itineraries including backpacking, rock climbing, mountain biking, canyoneering, challenge course and skiing. Guides also work closely with our field and clinical teams to provide individualized mental health care for each student and to facilitate group therapeutic activities.
This job affords an opportunity to help struggling young people develop healthy coping mechanisms and living skills that will aid them throughout life. There are many intense emotional challenges that staff encounter while guiding, however, if you have a growth mindset then you could be greatly rewarded through the struggles and achievements of wilderness therapy guiding.
