What I liked

I really enjoyed the environment at Aspen Grove. It's a really fun place to work and everyone there is great. I found the work very interesting and a fun challenge.

What I wish was different

I wish more guidance and more concrete tasks had been given to me. Recently this has occurred and I've found that I've been able to be much more productive and have felt much better about my work.

Advice

Interacting with the other staff is super fun and definitely the one of the best things about working at Aspen Grove. Be sure to take advantage of that!

The clean, happy atmosphere, could always feel the Spirit there, the managers really cared about all the employees, and it was free food and board.

What I wish was different

Better pay.

Advice

Be aware of how much you are agreeing to be paid, and don't complain about it once you start working. You knew what the hours and pay was going to be before you accepted the job.

Camp Counselor

May - August 2019 • Provo, UT

What I liked

I loved the whole experience! Obviously there were hard days because if you're a camp counselor you have to constantly have high energy; however, this experience truly changed my life. I met such amazing people and was able to hear powerful stories from the guests. I made lifelong friends. I was able to stretch out of my comfort zone and try something new. I love Aspen Grove, it is such a special place. Watching families grow closer together each week is a wonderful experience.

What I wish was different

The only complaint I have is that I wish there was a bus that went up and down the mountain to go down into Provo. When you work at Aspen Grove you live at the camp for free, which is great; however, I did not have a car, so if I needed to get down the valley, I would have to coordinate getting a ride.

Advice

If you want to work at Aspen Grove, you need to be willingly to give of your entire heart to this job. The families are only there for one week, and even if it's your tenth week working and you are beyond exhausted, you can't forget that it's the guests first and only week. Get ready to be the most happy and tired you've ever been in your life.
