Electronics Design Intern

May - August 2021 • Wilton, CT

What I liked

I liked everything about this internship. The people I worked with were great and served as mentors for me. I was able to learn a lot like life skills and advice to more technical electrical engineering skills.

What I wish was different

I wish that it had been in person.

Advice

Definitely apply here if it fits your field of study. There's so much to do and this company is a leader in its field.

Optical Test System Engineering Intern

June - December 2019 • Rancho Bernardo, CA

What I liked

Innovative product supported by many different groups, all working together. Amazing lab facilities and really cool lasers! The internship program as a whole was very enlightening from both a technical and personal perspective. The program engaged each one of it's interns in regular group learning sessions where a speaker would present about interview skills, LinkedIn profile management, etc. Felt like a strong community.

What I wish was different

Due to tremendous growth, the San Diego site was going through some minor adjustments, but all were being addressed. Parking was limited and facility space was occasionally an issue.

Advice

Talk to others around you and always look for an opportunity to learn! If you are an intern, take hold of your project and really own it, while still using the support network of co-workers to your benefit. Your internship is like a 3 month long interview: make it count!

Mechanical Engineering Intern

May - August 2019 • San Diego, CA

What I liked

I would encourage everyone interested in ASML to apply! I thoroughly enjoyed my experience as an intern at ASML. I had the opportunity to use my mechanical engineering education at the forefront of the semiconductor industry, which I previously had little exposure to. ASML is a great company and the internship was genuinely a lot of fun. I made lifelong friends among the other interns, and got the opportunity to do real project work on vacuum chambers in the laboratory/clean room. A few months after my internship concluded, my team from the summer reached out to let me know of a full time position to apply to. I was hired, and began work right after graduation. I am now a full time manufacturing engineer at ASML San Diego. ASML is a great place to work if you are a fast learner and enjoy working in team settings! The company is also a leader in the industry, so if you're someone who wants to use their skills to push the boundaries and work on something nobody has done before, you should consider ASML.

What I wish was different

Intern projects were very interesting, but the trainings you must complete before you begin your project work (depending on the team you're on/setting you're working in) can take a week or two to complete before you get to do much hands on work. Once you've onboarded though, you have many resources to get the project done.

Advice

I would say that any internship that's worthwhile is going to be challenging at times, but ASML was more than worth it. In my opinion, the projects you work on are important, but the people you meet and the connections you make are even more valuable.
