I wish I had been better prepared for this work, but sadly schools are only focused on certain career paths and neglect all others.

Advice

Grades don't make a difference. You will more than likely never use what you learn in college, so take some time to practice what will matter. Get some real world experience, experiment within your chosen career field and get a feel of what it will be like.

What I liked

I love the patient interaction. I loved that I had flexibility in my schedule and could spend extended periods of time being with residents, which they do not always get to have.

What I wish was different

I wish I had been more concrete tasks to accomplish. A paid position would have been nice as well.

Advice

Find ways to get the most out of an experience. You will learn from every experience. In our fast-paced world, people forget the importance of simply being in the presence of another person.
