Public Relations Intern

May - August 2020 • Bethlehem, PA

What I liked

I worked on news releases, articles, media advisories, editing/proofreading, and helped in dealing with influencers. I received a lot of pieces for my portfolio and enjoyed writing most of it. I learned so much! Some of the pieces I worked on, like news releases and media advisories, I had only learned about in my classes. We didn't really go too in-depth when it came to writing samples. The team was really helpful and supportive in giving me great feedback and help in writing them.

What I wish was different

I don't think there is anything that I would say needs to be different. I felt that I learned so much and had a very well-rounded internship. One thing that I did wish I had done more in was the social media aspect. I really enjoyed doing some work with influencers, but I would have loved to dive deeper into it.

Advice

Try to be a part of as much as you can. The more effort you put into it, the more you learn from it. The PR team at ArtsQuest is very supportive! If there is something you want to learn more about, do not hesitate to ask and dive into it!

Social Media and Marketing Intern

May - October 2019 • Bethlehem, PA

What I liked

The staff that coordinated the internships was always acting in the best interest of their interns.

What I wish was different

I wish that myself and the other interns in my department had been tested with more respect by our direct supervisors.

Advice

Set up boundaries early. You will be asked to do things which you are not contractually obligated to do, and if you give an inch, they take a mile.
