What I liked

I really enjoyed getting the opportunity to improve on my leadership skills and develop into a better version of myself. We got to go into the fields and practice completing missions and relying on one another to do their part towards completing our shared common goal. By the end of the 2 months that I was there, I was able to lead 40 individuals into believing and trusting what I say and my plans of action without hesitation.

What I wish was different

I wish I would have taken the opportunity to enjoy the little moments a little longer than I did. The people I met there came from all parts of the country and even outside the U.S. , I wish I could have asked more questions and gained more knowledge from the experience. Nonetheless it was an absolutely remarkable experience.

Advice

Go in prepared and already knowing the basics of soldiering and discipline. This is the absolute test to assess how good you are in a leadership position, so remember to take initiative and remain humble. Work on your physical fitness before you attend CST because it will deeply reflect on you when you take the ACFT and OPAT.
