Wish the group i was assigned to was more ready/had a project they were serious about having me work on from the very start

learn how to be a good public speaker because i fell flat there :)

What I liked
I was able to get experience with public health research and learned new skills such as coding, data entry, and project management.
What I wish was different
It would have been a better experience if we were given choices of what parts of public health we were most interested in, but nevertheless, we got invaluable exposure to various aspects of public health through Grand Rounds, guest speakers, and communicable disease epidemiology meetings.
Advice
I would encourage anyone to look into this opportunity if they are interested in public health as a future career. It truly opened my eyes to different aspects of public health, and increased my passion for population level health policy.
