What I liked

I really enjoyed the network that I developed with this program. I met many educated and driven professionals while working as a student researcher.

What I wish was different

I wish that the payment schedule was more consistent, at times we were paid up to a month late.

Advice

I would advise any prospective student to look into their research topic before beginning this program.

Center for sustainability intern

What I liked

I really enjoyed my time at the Center. Jessica was a great advisor and leader throughout the internship. I was able to do many different tasks during my internship, but I enjoyed the social media aspect the most. It was nice to do an internship at school because it made me more knowledgeable about all the little details that go into all the zero waste events and the data collecting of energy usage, etc throughout the year.

What I wish was different

Advice

Never be afraid to ask questions. Jessica has a ton of knowledge in this field and is always willing to talk about sustainability relating to Aquinas initiatives or outside school sustainability topics.

Housekeeping Staff

What I liked

I really appreciated how much I learned about my campus. I got to go into buildings and rooms that I have never been in before and view the school through a staff member eyes. I created an understanding of the difficulties the staff has to go through on a daily basis and it made me appreciate them more. I loved living on campus because I am originally an out of state student and it made getting to work early easier.

What I wish was different

We had shifts from 8am-4pm and that really made the days long. By the time you worked out or enjoyed what was left of sunlight, the day was over and you were exhausted. Although, it was nice going to bed feeling accomplished with a hard days work.

Advice

A good night's rest and a decent breakfast makes all the difference in your morning productivity.

Mathmatics Researcher

What I liked

I loved the opportunity to further my education in math. It was a cool opportunity to put some of the things that I had learned in classes into use in the real world.

What I wish was different

Nothing, I really enjoyed my experience.

Advice

I would say if you have any interest in research at all, you should go for it! It was a really cool experience to work with Aquinas Faculty, and gain more knowledge on a topic I truly enjoy!
