Annie H. Hoffman, LLC

Marketing Intern

April - June 2024 • Middlesbrough, England

What I liked

In my internship with Annie, I genuinely enjoyed the incredible learning experience. Annie has a wealth of knowledge, and it felt like there was always something new to tackle each day, from email marketing and creating targeted media lists to strategic outreach and website development. My first project—building a website for one of her clients—was challenging, but Annie's guidance and constructive feedback were invaluable. Her support taught me to focus on the finer details, a skill I still value today. I also loved the diversity of tasks, which kept each day exciting and educational.

What I wish was different

I honestly don’t think anything should have been different; Annie’s approach and guidance were excellent as they were. I guess if I had to say something, it would be that meeting her in person would have been nice. Even though my internship was online, I always knew Annie was just a call away for any questions I had, which is something many other internships don’t offer. Her support made a huge difference, and I felt genuinely connected and guided every step of the way.

Advice

My advice to any student considering an internship would be to join Annie’s team if you get the chance. You’ll be exposed to a wide range of tasks and learn valuable skills across different areas, which makes for a truly well-rounded experience. It’s a fantastic way to gain hands-on knowledge and build a strong foundation for your career.

Editor Intern

February - August 2024 • Canton, GA

What I liked

I really enjoyed the casual atmosphere! I was able to work with Annie directly and learn from more experienced writers and editors.

What I wish was different

I would've liked to do more writing projects just for practice. I did do a good amount, though, so this is a minor tidbit I would've liked.

Advice

Keep a steady schedule to make sure everyone has the chance to give feedback and do edits before it's set to be posted.

Sports Media Agent Intern

May 2024 • Canton, GA

What I liked

I love how Annie values everyone's communication of ideas and feedback and is always willing to help us learn. Getting to work on many different projects throughout the internship has helped me learn more about myself. Not only is the work environment serious and thoughtful, but we get to have fun and connect as well!

What I wish was different

The only downside for me was the remote aspect of the internship. I love group work and collaboration, and while we did get to have that collaboration over Zoom meetings, sometimes I would feel a slight disconnect.

Advice

Accountability and communication are key factors to doing well in these internship opportunities. Honesty and good effort are important backings to a beneficial and effective experience working with Annie. Don't be afraid to express your opinions and preferences!

Sports Broadcasting Intern

May 2023 - February 2024 • Canton, GA

What I liked

Working and learning from Annie was one of the best experiences I could have had. This was my first experience in the sports industry, and I am extremely glad to have learned so much in my first experience. Annie taught me many valuable lessons and insights about the sports industry that I still use today. As a sports broadcasting intern, I learned a lot about the importance of media for athletes, teams, and commentators. If you are starting out in the sports industry, I highly recommend working with Annie to grow as much as possible.

What I wish was different

At first, I started in an online model. While I still had work to do, it was very difficult to get the full benefits of my internship experience. Once I transitioned into an in-person model, I was able to learn a lot more working with Annie!

Advice

One piece of advice I would like to share is to be open and willing to learn. The sports industry is so complex and multifaceted that you cannot try and narrow down your experience and knowledge. Annie helped teach me a lot, and I believe I remember so much because I was open to learning from her.

Sports/Public Relations Intern

December 2023 - May 2024 • Sandy Springs, GA

What I liked

Getting hands on experience working with Annie was great. She takes the time to really get to know her interns, so she can help them learn in the best way possible. She also has learned a lot of important things throughout her career, so being able to pick her brain and learn how to have success in your career is something I really enjoyed about working with her!

What I wish was different

I wish I would have been able to work with Annie for longer than I did. The six months I spent working with her were great, and I think that if I was able to work with her for a longer period of time I could've learned so much more.

Advice

Go in with a willingness to learn and ask questions. Annie has a lot of great advice that I still find useful to this day, so don't be afraid to ask her questions!
