About American Heart Association

We are thrilled to share that the American Heart Association has been recognized on the Forbes 2023 list of America’s Best Mid-Size Employers! This prestigious award is presented by Forbes and Statista Inc., the world-leading statistics portal and industry ranking provider. Forbes and Statista selected America’s Best Employers 2023 through an independent survey of approximately 45,000 American employees across 25 industry sectors.

The American Heart Association is the nation’s oldest and largest voluntary organization dedicated to fighting heart disease and stroke. We are committed to advancing health equity – which can exist only when all people can have the opportunity to enjoy healthier lives. We’re removing barriers to health through work in communities, scientific research, advocating for healthy policies and more. We are dedicated to providing a meaningful learning experience and nurturing talent who can contribute to our mission – ‘To be a relentless force for a world of longer, healthier lives’.

We welcome interns though out the year to various departments and from a variety of majors.

We provide a rewarding experience to each intern by offering a professional work environment where professional skills can be developed and where there is opportunity to observe, assist, and learn about the work done at the AHA. Thereby allowing the student to test potential career choices based on real-life work experiences in addition to providing an opportunity to gain on-the-job knowledge which will help make them more viable candidates for future job opportunities
