Workplace Health & Safety Specialist

November 2021 - May 2022 • Carlisle, PA

What I liked

The culture and team environment. I also enjoyed the critical thinking skills needed to create projects and conducting incident investigations.

What I wish was different

More support from Leadership. Training was "learn on your own". There was no set "universal and uniform" training. Each person's training was different.

Advice

Even though the training experience was subpar, the job was exciting and rewarding. My success in this position came from listening from my peers in Operations and being there to support them.

I enjoyed the opportunity to be able to learn so much in the field. Being able to learn what the industry was like and its practices allowed me to further my coding abilities and problem solving.

I did wish that there was better communication between the company and I when I was first starting out. The lack of communication did bring some difficulties along the way but it was later resolved.

Advice

It is going to be difficult at first but don't stop trying. You will at first feel defeated but as long as you keep pushing through, you'll excel in your endeavors.

Area Manager Intern

May - July 2022 • Lewisberry, PA

What I liked

My managers and peers were incredibly insightful, and really helped me to learn and grow from my position. They were honest and very insightful with me, answer all of my questions while also talking to me about my future.

What I wish was different

Due to its size, the company has a pretty loose structure for internships. While that was nice at points because of the freedom, there were many times in which the details of what I was expected to be doing were lost in translation.

Advice

Despite the negative reviews of working in an Amazon warehouse, this was a truly eye-opening experience in which I met a lot of amazing and helpful people.
