I loved being able to get more experience in my craft and even get some experience being an educator. All of the Teaching Artists were actually working actor/professionals who have done work all around the US, including at the alliance! They made it a very safe and open environment with room and time for networking and workshops. It was very relaxed and fun as well.
What I wish was different
I do wish that they offered at least some kind of stipend or at least a Marta voucher.
Advice
Be prepared for working out of your comfort zone. Also be prepared for a bunch of characters of children, because a lot of them have big personalities!

If you are not from the Atlanta area, be prepared to find housing in order to fully engage in this experience! There are lots of options available on Air BnB and other auxiliary sites.

Teacher Assistant
May - August 2017 • Atlanta, GA
What I liked
I loved working with the kids and given the opportunity to work with professional actors as their assistants! I did this because I wanted to be more involved with theater, so help teaching children about the fundamentals of performing and then learning from that experience itself was a treasure to me.
What I wish was different
Wish their were more training about how to deal with some of the children. Not all of them will pay attention to you at various ages.
