This was an extremely team oriented job, I got to work together with others to build sustainable, multi-use trails for the county parks. It was really helpful to learn how to work together with others in decision making.
I also loved being able to work outside all summer.
It was extremely satisfying to see the effects of our work.
Lots of cool animal sightings!
I learned A LOT about plant and insect identification.
Our employers were very understanding and helpful, always there when we needed them.
What I wish was different
Not the fault of my employers, but we were not able to use power equipment, which made some aspects of the job harder than necessary.
Advice
Take breaks as needed, it's a labor intensive job, you can only do as much as your body allows you. Also be aware that you will be driving long distances, if you're not willing to drive over an hour to work (often in heavy traffic) this may not be for you.
