What I liked

Most of the work that I did during my internship was part of their daily jobs and I helped them with a lot of client documents. It felt like I was part of the team. It didn't feel as an internship

What I wish was different

I know this year was hard because of COVID and they did everything online for the first time but something that can help for next year could be creating more interactive online events and a little more social gatherings (online) to meet more people as a person.

Advice

Try to learn about basic coding and always try to get involved on projects. This will help you start networking with new people

Everyone was really friendly. The culture there is pretty cool as the company is making an effort to go Public soon.

Like most internships, I did a lot of trivial data manipulation/excel work.

Advice

Don’t worry if you feel completely lost at first. All the acronyms and lingo are confusing at first.

The work itself can sometimes be a little dry.

Advice

You don't learn benefits administration in school. There is a learning curve to this job, and everyone understands this. They are all very willing to help you. Questions are welcomed.

Health Client Specialist Intern

What I liked

A real sense of community between those who worked there. Many had been a part of the company for 15+ years and others were only into their first year of working, but everyone got along well. In addition, everyone was very understanding and I was never looked down upon or treated like a lowly summer intern.

What I wish was different

I was the first summer intern to work with the company in the Norwalk office so they did not have a good outline of what interns should be doing. I got a lot of misc. projects thtat people hadn't had enough time before to get around to. Once I finished these projects it felt like people were so busy that they wouldn't even look over the projects I was doing. Some days I wouldn't have anything to work on all day.
