Alexander Graham Bell Association for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing

About Alexander Graham Bell Association for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing

The Alexander Graham Bell Association for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (AG Bell) has been with the Georgetown community for 125 years since the inventor of the telephone used a prize he won from the government of France to build the Volta Bureau. We’re located in Georgetown – in a beautiful historic building.

Working here is about making a difference in the lives of children who are deaf by helping their families get them hearing aids and cochlear implants and speech therapy so they can hear and learn to talk. It’s cool to see how well children who are deaf can speak and learn and play along with typical hearing kids once they get the technology and training they need.

You can make a difference!

AG Bell is looking for interns who are interested in learning more about business, marketing, and nonprofit management by adding hands-on experience to your education. We’ll help you get skills in how companies work nationally and internationally with real-time experience.
Our interns participate in online research, web development, social media, and fundraising, event planning and business services. If you’re majoring in history, business, international relations, marketing and communications, library science or even health sciences, AG Bell is a great place to see your work in action.

We require that you have skills using MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) as well as internet navigation and pay attention to detail. Good writing skills and the ability to suggest solutions to problems are also preferred, and we hope that you bring a sense of humor, desire to be a star and are willing to join in as a member of our team.

Flexible shifts from 8-20 hours a week are available.

The Alexander Graham Bell Association for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. EIN: 53-0196644
