Alaska General Seafoods (“AGS”) is a shore-based seafood processor which acquires, cans, freezes or provides fresh seafood products to wholesale buyers from around the world. Headquartered in Kenmore, Washington, Alaska General Seafoods (AGS) operates two major processing plants in the state of Alaska. In terms of seafood volume, both plants are located in the top 20 U.S seafood ports. One plant is located in Southeast Alaska (city of Ketchikan) and the other in South Western Alaska (city of Naknek). The plants operate on seasonal basis during late spring through the summer time.
At the peak of the fishing season, AGS employs more than 900 people in all of their shore-side operations. During the fishing season, AGS procures wild Alaska salmon from hundreds of independent fishermen. AGS continues to be a major sockeye salmon processor.
