What I liked

Loved the co-workers and the staff to always bring me joy. I could talk about anything to them. Also liked Alamo's values regarding how to treat people. It allowed me to be myself in a workplace without having to change my personality. Everybody had a job and as long as they stuck to their role, the guests would be happy which would make the servers happy.

What I wish was different

More flexibility regarding where to work. I am a very personable guy and would love to move up in the company. However, I did not know how to.

Front Bar/Concierge

December 2016 • Austin, TX

What I liked

Great company to work for, super fun staff, management and guests. Being able to be a part of unique movie going experiences was always a lot of fun. The infectious positive attitude of the staff made me look forward to working everyday. Also really good perks, free movies, a shift meal everyday, and even though we were part time employees, still very understanding when my wife and I both took time off when we had our child. I wasn't on any leave, they just held my position for me until I could come back.

What I wish was different

I can't think of anything I would want to change about the Alamo.

Advice

Learn fast! It's very easy to work and learn in different sections. The management is very open to your wishes as to what you want to do.
