I was able to independently work on a project that was eventually deployed to customers. It felt very validating that I had the skills to create something that would be directly used in a product.
What I wish was different
I was working at a very small company. I was the only intern and there were only about 8 people in my office. At times, I wished that there were more people my age to work with.
Advice
I would advise students to reach out to people that they know. Networking is super important and it might get you an opportunity that you didn't even know existed.
