I was able to do a lot of different activities. Some involved research and analysis of hate crimes and trends. Other tasks were related to outreach and educational initiatives.
What I wish was different
I wish I had been given some more long-term projects rather than so many small ones. I also wish I knew more about the internship before I started because I was not provided much information about what I was actually going to be doing.
Advice
It is important to be flexible because circumstances and expectations about internships may be different than what you expect.
