The company provided weekly luncheons that featured a lecture from one of the company's executives. These were extremely insightful. In addition, they provided frequent networking and professional development events. My favorite part of the internship was the summer long project for all interns. All interns worked together to address a company problem and presented our findings and reccomendations to the CEO and other company executives and other staff members who presented us with questions. Our recomendations were then handed over to a committee to implement.
What I wish was different
Each intern was assigned to a team/department in the company and sometimes this could feel like we were siloed from other departments. They were able to combat this with the internship project and the networking events but day to day work sometimes felt very isolating.
Advice
This was a phenomenal experience and it is imperative to really take advantage of all of the events put on by the company and network constantly. The intern project was a great opportunity to showcase your intelligence and also ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, and present professionally to an important audience.
