Advice

People are always evaluating you. It's exhausting, but treat the internship like a ten-week long interview.

Communications and Branding Intern

June - August 2019 • New York City, NY

What I liked

There was a positive company culture and a great intern program.

What I wish was different

There was a lot of focus on the wealth management interns vs the other interns. I also wish the job was more marketing based like the job had said.

Advice

Create opportunities for yourself within the job limits.

Private Wealth Management Intern

May - August 2019 • Vienna, VA

What I liked

I loved the team I interned for. Their fast-paced and motivated culture fit my personality extremely well. I learned a ton of new things related to the field as well as learned how to think outside the box to solve a problem.

What I wish was different

The only aspect of the internship that I wish had been different is the time to get to know others in the office. I didn't have much time to do so because of the workload and daily schedule, however, I'll get this opportunity upon my return to the company.

Advice

One advice I would share about this experience is learn as much as you can. Everyone in the office has a tremendous amount of experience in the wealth management field and would love to share them with you. Never stop learning and be opened to try new things to learn how they work.

Financial Advisor Intern

May - August 2019 • Fort Myers, FL

What I liked

Working as an intern for UBS financial services really opened my eyes to the corporate financial industry. I loved how every day was different whether that meant working on projects, sitting in on client meetings, or working with models and client accounts.

What I wish was different

I started there without expectations and an open mindset. Granted some days were slow, however I was open to any and all experiences to build my education.

Advice

It’s okay to be nervous for your first internship. Everyone wants you to succeed in it so don’t be afraid to ask your employers for help.
