About SEKISUI KYDEX

The story of SEKISUI KYDEX is one that is still being told, but our origins can be traced back to the companies that we were created from – KYDEX® Thermoplastics and ALLEN® Thermoplastics.
1965 - KYDEX® 100 sheet invented at Rohm and Haas Company, outside Philadelphia, PA. With FAR 25.853 (a) and UL recognized fire rating and other mechanical properties it was destined for aircraft interior applications.
1970 – ALLEN® Thermoplastics opened its doors in Holland, Michigan and began raising the bar in the industry by exceeding the demands of thermoformers with flexibility of our production lines, and multi-layer capabilities.
Today as SEKISUI SPI, we're a formidable competitor and an understated leader in the industries we serve.
IT'S our spirit of collaboration and innovation that drives us to create new industry and market needs, and ENABLES us to deliver more than our customers can imagine. FROM manufacturing specialty thermoplastics that are lighter, stronger and more aesthetically pleasing, to reducing development time for new materials, to unleashing design possibilities as endless as one's imagination.
