What I liked

It was a really fun work environment. I was able to work with and learn things about many different animals and I also enjoyed interacting with their owners.

What I wish was different

I do wish that this job had more training of how to care for animals when I was first hired. A lot of my knowledge I gained at this job I had to research on my own because there was almost no information given to me during my training about proper animal care or about the products we sold.

Advice

Don't be afraid to branch out and try new things. I learned a lot of things while working at PetSmart, and not just things about animals. Don't be afraid to approach people and start up conversations, it helps build social skills and gets you more practice for thinking on your feet.

They put a lot of work into making sure they have one of the most beneficial internship programs in the country. I really enjoyed how close I got with the other 40 interns at their corporate office in Phoenix.

What I wish was different

Nothing, it was really a great experience.

Advice

Don't be afraid to step out of your comfort zone and try working in a state or region that you're not from or have never been to. This is time of our lives where we get to choose what comes next!

What I liked

I really connected with my co-workers and many of the animals there. I still keep in touch with them and whenever I go back home I go to see them. I have every intention to return to them when I'm done with college.

What I wish was different

I wish that the petsmart that i transferred to in Tucson wasn't so different and wasn't such a horrible experience for me. The only good thing that Tucson petsmart did was really showed me how much I treasured my home petsmart pet hotel.

Even with a job you enjoy, not every day is going to be a good day, but you still have to do your best no matter what.

Advice

If you do not like pets then this is definitely not the place to work. It is a really fun environment and you get to see a lot of different animals, especially if you work in Pet Care.
