January - September 2019 • Grand Forks, ND
What I liked
Working at Northwestern Mutual was a great opportunity to meet other professionals and to learn about myself in a new way. I think it is equally important to learn about what you do not like as to learn about what you enjoy, and Northwestern Mutual taught me that I do not like making commission or having to cold call people.
What I wish was different
I wish that, going into the internship, I would've been more aware of the time commitments and how difficult the work would be. Being more educated about it may have prepared me more for the commitment.
Advice
I would definitely advise people to take their time before committing to this, because it is a lot of hard work and dedication but there is a large reward.
