Advice

Effective communication in all of its forms is very important as this position is one that oversees stores in a geographically large area. Identifying the most effective channel for each General Manager and team they oversee is the first step to success in this position. Each team, while part of a large organizational culture, has unique sub cultures. Communication crafted for each sub culture, though identical in content, will be most effective.

I wish I could have scheduled my hours differently.

Advice

It’s a great job in general. The labor isn’t too intensive and most people are pretty cool and you’ll probably like your coworkers. It also forces you to talk to people and can improve communication skills.

What I liked

I loved my Coworkers. They made going into work fun every day. Also, it was just a great environment to build friendships with people in my area.

What I wish was different

I probably would want to change from working 2nd shift to either graveyard or mornings, just because 2nd is really awkward times that mess with my sleep schedule
