As an art student, it was great to be around the artwork so much. I learned a lot.
What I wish was different
There wasn't much opportunity for learning about the actual operations of the museum, since this position is a security position.
Advice
I would recommend looking for an internship with the staff in the department you're interested in, instead of working with security. That is, if you can afford it, since most internships there are unpaid.
