Cashiering is not for everyone. It is pretty draining, especially if your customers are rude. But you do meet some pretty fantastic people every now and again!

What I liked

I've been working there for a while and I like the family feel of the employees throughout the store. I also like how willing they are to train you for new skills to give you a feel of how other departments work. Food Lion also cares tremendously for their customers and are always coming up with new ways to increase customer satisfaction.

What I wish was different

There isn't much that I would change. Some days are more stressful than others, but that just comes with the job.

Advice

Being a cashier allows you to be exposed to many different people and can sometimes have its challenges. Just remember no matter what to be respectful help the customer in any way you can.

What I liked

The management team really care about their employees and help to make them feel comfortable and welcomed. Food lion is flexible with hours and student's schedules.

What I wish was different

I don't have any complaints about this job. They work well to accommodate for disabilities and treat their workers well. While I attend university they hold my job for when I return for summer and Christmas break. I can't complain!

Advice

Communicate with supervisors and know yourself and what you can handle. Customer service jobs are difficult for some people.

I liked how nice and friendly everyone was no matter the situation. I was really loved at FoodLion and being there with all of my people really made me feel good. They were like my second family, my work family. In working there, I found two people who are now so close to me more than anyone else and I thank my job for giving me that opportunity.
