This was a unique opportunity to get a first-hand look at cutting-edge research. I was given the task of deeply studying a specific topic in the cybersecurity field, one that I would never have thought of even reading about had I not participated in the Summer research program at I-SENSE at FAU.

Communications assistant

July 2020 • Boca Raton, FL

What I liked

My advisor was very helpful and got me in touch with the correct people at FAU for an internship that turned into a job.

What I wish was different

COVID made everything very difficult. FAU did whatever they could to help me and it has worked out. Nothing they can do about a virus. I would of liked to see more online webinars on more career days.

Advice

Really talk to your advisor and tell him/her what you are looking for. Do not just pick any internship because its available.
