Analyst (Management Consulting)

June - August 2018 • San Francisco, CA

What I liked

It was an incredibly competitive internship and I was the first LMU student to receive the offer.

What I wish was different

I wish that LMU had access to management consulting firms MBB. Mckinsey, Boston Consulting Group, Bain, as those management consulting firms do not recruit from LMU.

Advice

Put yourself out there, find opportunities, they are not going to come to you.

Risk Advisory Intern

June - August 2018 • Mumbai, Maharashtra

What I liked

Lots of interaction with clients and EY employees. People were always willing to help and were excited to get to know me. A lot of travel and real work that made a difference to the client. Lot of autonomy and space to learn.

What I wish was different

Perhaps it could’ve been more structured. However EY India does not have an official intern program, so I am very grateful for the opportunity.

Advice

Be open and willing to learn from and get to know as many people as possible.

What I liked

I loved the corporate culture and assignments I was put on. I also liked how I learned to network and conduct myself in a professional setting.

What I wish was different

At times I wish I could've been more hands on some audits or certain task but I understand that bigger tasks had required more experience which I didn't have.

Advice

Always ask questions and don't be afraid to ask questions. The more you ask questions the more you will learn and make the best of your experience.

Launch Intern

June - August 2018 • New York City, NY

What I liked

I enjoyed that each day was an extremely new experience, with new knowledge to be acquired. The site visits in Manhattan also shouldn't be underestimated. Lastly, I was able to meet so many people and make friends, ranging from other interns that grew up across the country, to staff 2s, to partners of the firm.

What I wish was different

I wish that there was consistent work. Some days, I was finishing tasks on my train ride home, while other days I was requesting work from anyone who could give me something to do.

Advice

Apply early! No, freshman year is not too early to get an internship, and you don't need to know anything about the practice going into the job. They are willing to teach you if you are eager to learn, regardless of your age.
